Navigating the Certify Processes Window

The Processes window displays the processes created in Certify for a project. From the Processes window, you are able to:

  • Execute processes
  • View process details
  • Test components
  • Link requirements
  • Customize the information with user-defined attributes
  • Print detailed and summary reports on processes and process usage

The Processes window consists of the following panes:

  • Navigation - Left pane that has a tree view of the existing process folders.
  • Summary - Right pane that displays the processes for the process folder that is selected in the Navigation pane.
  • Details - Bottom pane that displays detailed information specific to the tabs.

Information in these tabs can not be edited.

Navigation Pane

The Processes Navigation pane provides the information you need to work with processes in a defined project. The Navigation pane consists of two tabs:

  • Folders
  • Filters

Folders Tab

The Navigation tree in the Folders tab displays the open project and all existing folders in the project. Levels within the hierarchy give you the flexibility to create various levels based on the best way to organize your processes.

The opened project is listed at the first level. When you click on the project, a list of processes that are not assigned to folders appears in the Summary pane. Folders that you created for the project are listed at the second level. When you click on a folder, a list of processes in the folder appears in the Summary pane.

Menu Options

In the Folders tab, you can use the right-click menu to do the following tasks:

New Folder

Create a new process folder.

Generate Processes from Requirements

Generate a new process from existing requirements. Each process will be automatically linked to the requirement.

Edit

Edit the process folder name.

Delete

Delete the folder and all subsequent folders and processes associated with this folder.

Cut

Remove the folder and place it on the Clipboard.

Copy

Copy the folder to the Clipboard.

Paste

Create a new folder below the selected folder.

Security

Specify which users are able to edit a process.

Edit Folder Processes

Edit the following items in multiple processes within the same folder:

  • Layout
  • Recordset Name
  • Development Status
  • Owner
  • Team
  • Attributes

Export Folder Processes

Export Certify processes and process folders from one project to another project either in the same database or a different database.

Import Processes

Import Certify processes and process folders from one project to another project either in the same database or a different database.

Merge Into Other Folder

Merge two process folders.

Summary Pane

The Processes Summary pane provides a list of existing processes in the selected folder. In the Summary pane, you can use the toolbar or right-click on a process to do the following tasks:

Customize Columns

 

Display the hidden (Hide) and visible (Show) columns and change the order of the columns by selecting Up or Down.

Note: You can select to display the Critical Requirement Attribute Changed column that will alert you to when a critical attribute has been updated in a linked requirement. The date when the attribute was updated displays in the column.

Print Table

 

Print the Summary pane information.

Export Table

 

Export information shown in the Summary pane to a comma-separated (.CSV) file.

New Process

 

Create a new process.

Edit

 

Edit the selected process.

Delete

 

Delete the selected process from your Certify system.

Cut

 

Cut the selected process.

Copy

 

Copy the selected process to the Clipboard.

Paste

 

Paste the cut or copied process beneath the selected process and rename the process automatically.

Import New Process

Using Certify Capture

Create a new process using Certify Capture.

From Certify Capture Import

The transactions that are recorded by standalone Worksoft Capture are saved as an XML file that can be imported directly into Certify with Certify Capture Import.

From Process Intelligence

Import Capture files from Worksoft Process Intelligence.

For more information, see Importing Capture Files From Process Intelligence.

 

Using Capture Files From RPA Orchestrator

Import Capture files from Worksoft RPA Orchestrator into Certify from the Processes window.

As Exploratory Test

Select a Capture file for import in order to generate a Certify process from the file.

When you import exploratory tests, the results are documented with screen captures and a generated process.

As Manual Test

The transactions that are recorded by standalone Worksoft Capture are saved as an XML file that can be imported directly into Certify with Certify Capture Import and used for manual testing.

Export

Export Process

Export Certify processes from one project to another project either in the same database or a different database.

Export RPA Model to RPA Orchestrator

With the Export RPA Model to RPA Orchestrator feature, you can select a Certify process that will be exported, encrypted, and saved to the Certify database as an RPA model for Worksoft RPA Orchestrator.

QC/ALM

Add to QC\ALM (Test Plan)

Transfer Certify processes to the Micro Focus ALM/Quality Center.

RPA

Import Capture Files From RPA Orchestrator

You can import Capture files from Worksoft RPA Orchestrator into Certify from the Processes window.

Export RPA Model to RPA Orchestrator

With the Export RPA Model to RPA Orchestrator feature, you can select a Certify process that will be exported, encrypted, and saved to the Certify database as an RPA model for Worksoft RPA Orchestrator.

SAP

Load Process from SAP

To load a process associated with SAP Solution Manager, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Test script name and version
  • Connection information, including RFC parameters

Unlink Process from SAP

Unlink the process from your SAP system.

Version & Usage

Create Version

Create a version of a process to preserve the current state.

For more information, see Creating Process Versions.

 

View History

View change history and set conditions to filter the change history results. Also, you are able to export these results to a CSV file.

Process Usage

Open the Process Usage dialog and display the processes that include the select process. This option is only available when a process is selected.

Compare To Other Process

Compare processes by visualizing differences in steps, data, properties, and called processes.

Merge Into Other Process

Merge two processes, compare two processes, and resolve any differences between the processes.

AI Search

 

AI Search enables you to find processes that are similar to a specified process.

Run

 

Execute the selected process.

For more information, see Configuring Process Execution and Executing Processes.

Run in CTM

 

From Certify, you can start Continuous Testing Manager (CTM) and remotely execute a process. You must have CTM installed in order to utilize this feature.

For selecting multiple processes, you can press the <Ctrl> key while selecting each process. For a range of consecutive processes, press the <Shift> key when selecting the range.

Details Pane

The Details tab shows specific information relating to functionality in Certify.
