Activating Process Execution in CTM

From Certify, you can start Continuous Testing Manager (CTM) and remotely execute a process with the Run in CTM feature. You must have CTM installed to use this feature.

Prerequisites

To have a successful integration, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Configuration must be completed by an administrator to ensure successful communication between Worksoft Portal, CTM, and Certify.
  • The Certify username and password must be configured exactly the same as the username and password listed in Worksoft Portal.
  • Worksoft Portal must be configured with the Certify database you intend to use.
  • User must be a member of the Tenant Admin group to retrieve a list of Certify databases from the Worksoft Portal.
  • User must be a member of the Continuous Testing Manager Suite Admin group to create a CTM suite for the specified process.

Before you can execute a process in CTM, configure your Worksoft Platform and sign in to the Platform.

To configure your Worksoft Portal connection:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Configure > Integrations > Worksoft Portal.

The Worksoft Portal Configuration dialog opens.

  1. In the Worksoft Portal field, enter the Worksoft Portal URL address.
  2. Click Test.

    A message opens stating the connection is successful.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Click Save.

To sign in to Worksoft Portal:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Tools > Login to the Worksoft Platform.

    The Login Worksoft Platform dialog opens.

  2. In the Username field, enter your Worksoft Portal username.

  3. In the Password field, enter your Worksoft Portal password.

  4. Click Login.

To activate process execution in CTM:

  1. In the Certify Navigation pane, click Processes.

    The Processes window opens.

  2. In the Processes Summary pane, complete one of the following steps:
  • Select a process and click the Run in CTM button from the toolbar.
  • Right-click on the process and select Run in CTM.
  • Select a process and select Actions > Run in CTM from the Certify menu.

  • If you have signed in to the Worksoft Platform, the Run in CTM dialog opens.

  1. Click the Certify Results Folder Browse button to select a folder for the process execution results.

  2. In the New Suite Name field, enter a name for your suite.

  3. From the Tenant drop-down list, select a tenant.

  4. Click Execute

    CTM starts the execute process operation on any available CTM agent.

    The results are added to your selected folder, and an email notification is sent.

    If there are any failures, a message appears in the dialog.

To view process execution progress in Certify:

Even though an email notification is sent out, you can view the execution progress in Certify.

  1. From the Certify menu, select Actions > CTM Runs.

    The CTM Runs dialog opens.

    A row appears in the grid for each requested execution within CTM. As long as Certify remains open, all executions are retained in the list.

  2. To update the information, click the Refresh button.
  3. After the process has completed execution, double-click the process in the dialog to open the result in the Results Viewer.
  4. After you have completed viewing the process execution, click Close.
