Viewing Change History

With the Certify History Viewer, an administrator can view the change history for the following tasks:

Certify Asset

Change History

Processes

  • When a process was created
  • When a process was updated
  • When a process was executed and who executed it
  • When a process was promoted and who promoted it

Users

  • When a user was created
  • When a user was modified
  • When permissions were added, changed, or removed for a user
  • When folder permissions were added, changed, or removed for a user

Groups

  • When a group was created
  • When a group was modified
  • When permissions were added, changed, or removed for a group
  • When folder permissions were added, changed, or removed for a group

Maps

  • When a window or map was added
  • When a window or map was updated
  • When a window or map was deleted

Layouts

  • When a layout and recordset was added
  • When a layout and recordset was updated
  • When a layout and recordset was deleted

Variables

  • When a variable was added
  • When a variable was updated
  • When a variable was deleted

Administrators can set conditions to filter the change history results, and they are able to export these results to a CSV file.

To view change history:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Tools > Change History.

    The Change History Viewer opens.

  2. From the Changed By drop-down list, select All Users or a specific user.
  3. In the Time Frame drop-down list, select one of the following time frames:
  4. 1 day
  5. Last 7 days
  6. Last 30 days
  7. Other

  8. If you selected one of the first three options, go to Step 4.

  9. If you selected Other, click the Start Date and End Date drop-down buttons to select your date range.
  10. Click Search.
  11. Hover over the Change column for specific information.

    A pop-up window opens with information on what was changed.

  12. After you have reviewed the results, click OK to close the tool.

To set filter conditions:

  1. In one of the Change History columns, click the Conditions icon in the column and select the condition that you want to use:
  2. Equals
  3. Does not equal
  4. Less than
  5. Less than or equal to
  6. Greater than
  7. Greater than or equal to
  8. Like
  9. Starts With
  10. Contains
  11. End With
  12. Does Not Start With
  13. Does Not Contain
  14. Does Not End With
  15. Does Not Match
  16. Not Like
  17. Select a value from the drop-down box.

    The list is filtered with this new condition.

    To delete the filter, click the Clear Criteria icon.

To export the Change History list:

  1. After you have viewed your results, right-click in the Change History tool and select Export.

    The Save As dialog opens.

  2. Browse to the folder where you want to save your results.
  3. In the File Name field, enter the name for the CSV file.
  4. Click Save.

    The list is saved as a CSV file.

View Change History in Certify Windows

Within these Certify windows, you can view change history in the following locations:

Window

Processes

Change History tab

In the Processes window, all users can view process change history by selecting a process in the Summary pane and click the Change History tab in the Details pane.

You can export these results to a CSV file.

Users and Groups

Right-click menu action View History

In the Users and Groups window, administrators can view the change history of a user or group by right-clicking on one in the Summary pane and selecting View History.

The Change History Viewer opens.

Maps

Change History tab

In the Maps window, all users can view change history by selecting a map or window in the Summary pane and clicking the Change History tab in the Details pane.

You can export these results to a CSV file.

Data

In the Data window, all users can view change history by selecting a layout in the Summary pane and clicking the Change History tab in the Details pane.

You can export these results to a CSV file.

Variables

Change History tab

In the Variables window, all users can view change history by selecting a variable in the Summary pane and clicking the Change History tab in the Details pane.

You can export these results to a CSV file.
