Description

Requirements

Requirements are business features or functions that describe how your application should work. In Certify, identifying requirements is the first step in defining the Critical Business Process Certification and in managing the associated risks.

Maps

An application map is an inventory of the application components, and each map is unique to each application version within a project.

Processes

In Certify, a process is a test that you want to perform against your application. When you define a process in Certify, the components of the process should describe the how and what you are trying to validate.

For more information, see Getting Started with Certify Processes.

Data

Provides the information you need to work with layouts, variables, and recordsets in a defined project. A layout is a list of variables used to organize how data is displayed in a recordset. Recordsets refer to a set of data values used to loop through your application while a test is being executed.

For more information, see Getting Started with Certify Layouts and Recordsets.

Variables

A variable is a symbol or name that represents a value. In Certify, variables are an important component of the Business Process Certification because they provide a means of representing the data that you want to use in your processes.

For more information, see Getting Started with Certify Variables.

Results

Displays the results of running processes in a defined project.

For more information, see Understanding Certify Results.

Applications

Provides the information you need to work with applications, application versions, and windows that you have imported into a version. An application is the representation of a program or group of programs that is being tested.

For more information, see Getting Started with Certify Applications.

Projects

In Certify, a project is an organized collection of test assets that are defined for one or more application versions.

For more information, see Getting Started with Certify Projects.

Users & Groups

Provides information about Certify users, groups, and their permissions for each task.

For more information, see Getting Started with Users and Groups.

Extensions

Contains features that allows you to extend the functionality of Certify. Extensions include user customization attributes, hooks, and user variables.

For more information, see Certify Extensions.

Interfaces

Contains all the interfaces and their details that can be used in your application version.

Navigation Tree

The Navigation tree contains nodes in a hierarchy of a Certify window. When you select a node in the tree, the Summary pane information changes.

Summary Pane

The Summary pane is located on the top right side of the Certify window. This pane shows dynamic, display-only information that changes depending on the node selected in the Navigation tree. From the Summary pane, you can right-click to access a shortcut menu of available actions.

Details Pane

The Details pane appears at the bottom right side of the Certify window. This pane contains tabs of information-that is related to the selected item in the Summary pane. From the tabs, you can right-click to access a shortcut menu of available actions.
