Inserting a Named Activity with Worksoft Business Capture

While you are capturing process steps with Business Capture, you are able to name a specific activity at any time during the process. You can also create a Named Activity step before you begin capturing your process.

To insert a Named Activity with Business Capture:

1. Open the application that you want to capture process steps.

2. Click the Business Capture icon on your desktop.

3. Before you begin capturing your process, you need to enable the interfaces that you will use. For information on how to configure interfaces, see Capturing Processes with Business Capture.

4. Click the Capture button.
5. Start navigating through your application to create your process. All of your interactions, including data input, are captured.

6. When you are ready to insert a Named Activity, click the Named Activity button.

   The Named Activity screen opens.

   

7. In the Named Activity text field, enter in a brief description for the named activity.

8. Click Save .

   The Named Activity is added to your process, and you can continue with your capturing of steps.

9. Note: To undo an action, press <Ctrl> <Z>.

9. After you complete your process, click the Capture button to end Capture mode.

10. Click the Main Menu button and select one of the following:

• Save to Local File - Save Capture as an XML file.

• Save to Orchestrator - For more information about saving to Worksoft RPA Orchestrator, see Saving a Captured Process to Worksoft RPA Orchestrator.

• Save to Process Intelligence - For more information about saving a Capture to Worksoft Process Intelligence, see Saving a Captured Process to Worksoft Process Intelligence.

The Save to File screen opens.

11. In the Capture Name text field, enter a name for your Capture file.
12. If needed, enter a description in the Description text field.

13. Click Save.

    The Save As dialog opens.

14. Browse to the folder in which you want to save your Capture file.

15. Click Save.

Editing a Named Activity

1. Double-click on the Named Activity that you want to edit.

   The Named Activity screen opens.

2. Apply your edits.

3. Click the Save button to save your edit.

Collapsing the Named Activity

In the Business Capture Automator User Persona, you can collapse the steps of a Named Activity in a Capture by clicking the Activity Step button.

To view the steps of a collapsed Named Activity, click the Activity Step button.
