Using Magic Search

Magic Search enables you to find processes that are similar to a specified process.

To use Magic Search:

  1. In the Worksoft Certify Navigation pane, click Processes.

    The Processes window opens.

  2. In the Processes Summary pane, right-click on a process and select Magic Search.

    The Magic Search tool opens with the specified listed in the Process Name field, and the number of steps next to the Browse button.

  3. If you want to change the specified process, click the Process Name Browse button, select a process, and click OK.
  4. If you want to change the specified folder, click the Search Folder Browse button, select a folder, and click OK.

    All processes in the selected folder and all sub-folders will be compared to the source process. The number of processes within the folder is listed next to the Browse button.

  5. Select which filters you want to use:

  6. Step Order
  7. System Steps
  8. Duplicate Steps
  9. Subprocesses
  10. Click Search.

    The search process starts, and you are able to see the progress at the bottom of the window.

    After the search completes, the results appear in the Magic Search Results section.

  11. Use the Filter on Match slider to control which results to display.

    The closer to the number 100, the closer the processes must match the source process.

  12. If you want to compare a process, right-click on a process in the Magic Search Results section and select Compare.

    The Compare Process tool opens. For more information, see Comparing Processes.

    The right-click menu also allows you to do the following tasks:

  13. Print
  14. Export
  15. Edit
  16. Export process
  17. View process usage
  18. Show in folder
