Creating Applications

Certify applications are a representation of a program or group of programs that you want to test. When you create an application, you will specify the following:

Interfaces associated with this application and version
Whether this application version will be shared across projects

You must associate an interface and create a version before you can import application map files. Also, if you do not associate an interface, then the system objects will not be available when you create processes. For more information about importing maps, see Importing Application Maps.

To create a new application and version:

In the Navigation pane, click Applications.

The Applications window appears.

In the Applications window, complete one of the following tasks:
In the Navigation tree, right-click on Applications and select New Application.
In the Applications Summary pane, right-click in the pane and select New Application.
From the tools menu, click the New button.

The New Application and Version dialog appears.

Enter the following information in the Application text fields:

Name

Enter the name of the application.

The name can have a maximum of 100 characters. Special characters and numbers are allowed in names.

Description

Enter information to identify the application.

The description can have a maximum of 1024 characters. Special characters and numbers are allowed in descriptions.

Enter the following information in the Application Versions fields:

Field	Description
Version	Enter a version number for the application. The version can have a maximum of 100 characters. Special characters and numbers are allowed in version names.
Version Description	Enter information to identify the application version. The description can have a maximum of 1024 characters. Special characters and numbers are allowed in descriptions.
Interfaces	Select one or more of the interfaces to associate with this application version.
Shared	If you want to share this application version with other projects, select the Shared option.

Click OK.

The new application and version are created.
