Switching from Certify Classic Mode to Certify Automator's Mode

Worksoft Certify for Automator’s is designed for Certify users who work on a remote machine. The new Automator’s mode works on a service layer that accelerates process execution for remote users.

To use the Certify for Automator's feature, you need to install Worksoft Certify Services on an application server. The Worksoft Certify Services installation package is included in the Worksoft Certify distribution package.

After you have installed Worksoft Certify Services, you can switch from Certify Classic mode to Certify Automator's mode with the Certify Configuration tool.

To switch from Classic mode to Automator's mode:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Configure > Certify > Database and Licensing.

The Certify Configuration tool opens.

  1. Select the Automator's Mode option.
  2. In the Database Server Name field, select a server from the drop-down list or enter a server name.
  3. In the Database Name field, enter a database name or select a database from the drop-down list.

    If you would like to select a database from the drop-down list, you need to set up your security authentication first. Go to Step 5.

  1. Select a Security option:
  • Use Windows Authentication
  • Use SQL Server Authentication
  1. If you selected SQL Server Authentication, enter a user name and password in the respective fields.
  2. In the Service Layer URL field, enter the URL address for the web server that is hosting Worksoft Certify Services.

    Example: http://servername/certifyapi

  3. Click Validate Service URL to test your connection.
  1. In the License Model section, select one of the following options and enter the required information:
  2. Worksoft License File

    If you do not have a license server, the license file WorksoftLic.xml must be installed in the following directory:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Worksoft\Certify\Client

  3. Worksoft License Server

    Enter the Worksoft Portal URL and tenant information. Use Default as your tenant name unless you already have tenants created.

  4. Click Validate License to test the connection.

    If for some reason the test fails, you need to troubleshoot the license server connection.

  1. Click OK.

    A message opens stating that you need to restart Certify.

  2. Click Yes to restart Certify with these saved configuration changes.
