Finding and Replacing Values and Variables in Processes

Within the Process Editor, you can find and replace text and variables within your process steps. The Find/Replace feature allows you to quickly locate a value or variable in a process and replace this value across a set of processes for end-to-end tests.

To find and replace a value in a process:

  1. In the Processes Summary pane, double-click on a process in which you want to edit a step value.

    The Process Editor opens.

  2. Click the Steps tab.
  3. From the Process Editor menu, select Edit > Find/Replace or press <Ctrl> <H>.

    The Find and Replace dialog opens.

  4. In the Find Next field, enter text that you want to find.
  5. In the Replace With text field, enter replacement text.
  6. Click Replace All to replace all the values, or click Find Next to replace values manually.

To find and replace a variable in a process:

  1. In the Processes Summary pane, double-click on a process in which you want to edit a step value.

    The Process Editor opens.

  2. Click the Steps tab.
  3. From the Process Editor menu, select Edit > Find/Replace or press <Ctrl> <H>.

    The Find and Replace dialog opens.

  4. In the Find Next field, enter text that you want to find or click the Select Variable button.

    If you added your own value, go to Step 7.

    The Select Variable dialog appears.

  5. In the Navigation pane, select the folder that contains the variable you want to add.
  6. In the Variables Summary pane, select a variable and click OK.
  7. In the Replace With text field, click the Select Variable button.

    The Select Variable dialog appears.

  8. In the Navigation pane, select the folder that contains the variable you want to add.
  9. In the Variables Summary pane, select a variable and click OK.
  10. Click Replace All to replace all the values, or click Find Next to replace values manually.
