Adding Layouts to Processes

A layout is a collection of variables that define the data in a recordset. A layout must exist before you can create the recordsets that will be used for your tests. A layout can have one or more recordsets associated with it.

Also, you are able to use the keyboard shortcuts <Ctrl> <C> and <Ctrl> <V> to copy and paste existing layouts from one step to another step.

To add a layout to an existing process:

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Processes.

The Processes window appears.

  1. In the Processes Summary pane, complete one of the following:
  2. Double-click a process
  3. Right-click on a process and select Edit

The Process Editor appears.

  1. In the Details pane, click the Select Layout button.

 The Select Layout dialog appears.

  1. In the Layouts Summary pane, select a layout.
  2. Click OK.

The layout appears in the Layout field of the Process Editor.
