Pausing the Timer While Running a Step in Manual Mode
To accurately measure the elapsed time for running a manual step, you can temporarily pause the timing to handle interruptions. The Pause Timer button in the Manual Execution tab allows you to pause the timing of the step and resume it by clicking the Resume Timer button.
To pause the timer while running a step in manual mode:

In the Navigation pane, click Processes.
The Processes window opens.
- In the Processes Summary pane, select a process that contains a Manual Step action and complete one of the following steps:
- Select a process
and click the Run
button

Right-click a process and select Run.
The Configuration dialog opens.
- In the Run Settings section, click the Run Mode drop-down list and select Manual.
- Configure the other settings to run your process. For more information, see Configuring Process Execution.

Click Start.
The Execution dialog opens with the Step tab in view.
- Expand the Step view
by clicking the Expand/Collapse
button on the right of the dialog to view the steps while using the other tabs.
- Click the Manual Execution tab.
- Click the Step button to begin to run your process.
- To pause the timer, click the Pause Timer button.
- To resume the timer, click the Resume Timer button.

Continue to click the Step button for each process step.
You can click the OK button to complete step execution when the timer is paused. In this case, Certify displays the elapsed time that was used on the step before the Pause Timer button was pressed.
