Activating Process Execution in Execution Manager

From Certify, you can start Execution Manager and remotely execute a process with the Run in Execution Manager feature. You must have the Worksoft Execution Suite installed in order to utilize this feature.

Before you can execute a process in Execution Manager, you need to configure your Worksoft Platform and log on to the Platform.

To configure your Worksoft Platform:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Configure > Integrations > Worksoft Platform.

The Worksoft Platform Configuration dialog box opens.

  1. In the Management Studio Host Name field, enter your Worksoft Management Studio URL address.
  2. In the Execution Manager field, enter the URL address for your Execution Manager.
  3. Click Save.

To sign in to Worksoft Platform:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Tools > Login to the Worksoft Platform.

    The Login Worksoft Platform dialog box opens.

  2. Select the Management Studio option.

  3. In the Email Address field, enter your Worksoft Management Studio email address which is your user name.

  4. In the Password field, enter your Worksoft Management Studio password.

  5. In the Tenant Name field, enter the name of your tenant.

  6. Click Login.

To activate process execution in Execution Manager:

  1. In the Certify Navigation pane, click Processes.

    The Processes window opens.

  2. In the Processes Summary pane, complete one of the following:
  • Select a process and click the Run in Execution Manager button from the toolbar.
  • Right-click on the process and select Run in Execution Manager.
  • Select a process and select Actions > Run in Execution Manager from the Certify menu.

  • If you have logged on to the Worksoft Platform, the Run in Execution Manager dialog box opens.

  1. Click the Certify Results Folder Browse button to select a folder for the process execution results.

  2. Click Execute

    The Execution Manager API invokes the execute process operation on any available resource. The results appear in the folder that you selected, and an email notification will be sent.

    If there are any failures, a message appears in the dialog box.

To view process execution progress in Certify:

Even though an email notification will be sent out, you can view the execution progress in Certify.

  1. From the Certify menu, select Actions > Execution Manager Runs.

    The Execution Manager Runs dialog box opens.

    A row appears in the grid for each execution that was requested within Execution Manager. All executions are retained in the list as long as Certify is open.

  2. To update the information, click the Refresh button.
  3. After the process has completed execution, double-click the process in the dialog box to open the result in the Results Viewer.
  4. After you have completed viewing the process execution, click Close.
