Specifying Attribute Visibility for Requirement Types

 

The Visibility of Requirement Attributes dialog box allows you to specify which attributes are visible for each requirement type. The changes that you make to the requirement type will affect all projects with requirements of this type.

To specify which attributes are visible for a requirement type:

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Extensions.

The Extensions window appears.

  1. In the Navigation tree, select Attributes > Requirement > Visibility.

The Requirement Type Visibility Summary pane appears.

  1. In the Summary pane, right-click on a requirement type and select Edit Attribute Visibility.

The Visibility of Requirement Attributes dialog box appears.

  1. From the Show or Hide drop-down list, select one of the following options:

    Show Checked Attributes

    Specifies which attributes to show for a given requirement type.

    Hide Checked Attributes

    Excludes specific attributes. If a new attribute is defined, it will be visible for this requirement type.

  1. From the Attributes text field, select the attributes that you want to show or hide.
  2. Click OK.

A warning message appears stating that this change will affect all projects with requirements of this type.

  1. Click OK.
  2. In the Summary pane, select the requirement type that you updated.

The Summary pane displays the option that you selected in the Show or Hide column, and the Details pane displays the attributes that you selected.
