Finding and Replacing Requirement Data

The Find and Replace tool allows you to find specific data in the Requirements Summary pane and Child Requirements tab, and if needed, update the text. You are able to find and update text in the following columns:

• Name
• Description
• Estimated Effort
• Actual Effort

To find requirement data:

1. In the Navigation pane, click Requirements.

The Requirements window appears.

2. To open the Requirements Find and Replace tool, use one of the following methods:
3. In the Certify menu, click Edit > Find.
4. In the Certify toolbar, click the Find button.
5. Right-click in the Requirements Summary pane and select Find.
6. Right-click in the Child Requirements tab and select Find.
7. Press <Ctrl><F>

The Find and Replace tool opens.

3. In the Find What text field, enter the text that you want to search for within your requirement data.
4. Click Find Next.

The Find operation highlights the first item that contains the search text.

5. Continue to click Find Next to search for all instances.
6. Click Close after you have completed your search.

To find and replace requirement data:

1. In the Navigation pane, click Requirements.

The Requirements window appears.

2. To open the Requirements Find and Replace tool, use one of the following methods:
3. In the Certify menu, click Edit > Replace.
4. Right-click in the Requirements Summary pane and select Replace.
5. Right-click in the Child Requirements tab and select Replace.
6. Press <Ctrl><H>

The Find and Replace tool opens.

3. In the Find What text field, enter the text that you want to search for within your requirement data.
4. In the Replace With text field, enter the text that you want to replace the current data with.
5. Click Find Next.

The Find operation highlights the first item that contains the search text.

6. Click Replace to replace the existing text.

 If you want to replace all of the instances, then click Replace All.

7. Click Close after you have completed your updates.
