Applying Read-Only Access to a Requirement

Administrators and the requirement owner controls the read-only access to a requirement. They can select which users will have permission to edit a specific parent or child requirement.

To apply read-only access to a requirement:

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Requirements.

The Requirements window appears.

  1. In the Navigation tree, right-click on a requirement and select Security.

The Permissions dialog appears.

  1. If you want to provide write permissions to only users and groups who currently have this permission in the project, select the Effective Write Permissions option. Go to Step 6.

If you want to limit write permissions to specific individual users and groups, right-click in the dialog and select Add User/Group.

The Select User/Group dialog appears.

  1. Select one or multiple users and groups. For multiple users, press the <Ctrl> key while selecting each user and group. For a range of consecutive users and groups, press the <Shift> key when selecting the range.
  2. Click OK.

The users and groups are added to the Permissions dialog.

  1. Click OK.

These user and groups you selected have read-only access to the requirement.
