Validating Your Certify Database

Administrators can validate their Certify database integrity with the Database Validation tool. This tool helps you to troubleshoot database issues and fix them.

To validate your Certify database with the Database Validation tool:

  1. From the Certify menu, select Tools > Database Validation.

    The Database Validation tool opens.

    The Navigation pane consists of the following Database Validation Rules:

    • Database Statistics - Collect details about the database.
    • Duplicate WSIDs - Find Worksoft component action IDs.
    • Orphans - Find orphan blobs and record filters.
    • Quality Checks - Check the data quality and determine if there are problems.
    • Unused Assets - Display assets that are defined, but unused in Certify.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click on a rule that you are interested in viewing.

  3. Click the Find button.

    A warning message appears and states that this operation may create a significant load on your database.

  4. Click Yes to continue.

    Information appears in the left Summary pane.

    You can sort the data by clicking on the column name.

    To filter the data in a column, click the Filter icon.

  5. After you have completed viewing the data, click the Close button.
