Using the Certify Performance Diagnostics Tool

The Certify Performance Diagnostics tool helps identify network latency between the Certify client and the API server and between the API server and the Certify database server.

You can perform load tests to verify network latency with the following payload options:

  • 1 KB
  • 10 KB
  • 100 KB
  • 1 MB
  • 10 MB

The client and server clock times must match for accurate results.

To identify network latency without a payload option:

  1. In the Certify Help menu, click Help > Certify Performance Diagnostics.

    The Performance Diagnostics Viewer opens.

  2. Click Get Stats.

    The actual connection time results appear in the Certify to API to Database section.

  3. Click Close after you have completed your test and finished reviewing your results.

To identify network latency with a payload option:

  1. In the Certify Help menu, click Help > Certify Performance Diagnostics.

    The Performance Diagnostics Viewer opens.

  2. In the Certify to Database/Database to Certify section, select one or more of the following payload options:
  3. 1 KB
  4. 10 KB
  5. 100 KB
  6. 1 MB
  7. 10 MB

  8. Note: If you select the 10 MB option, a message appears and states that it will take several minutes to run this test. If you want to continue the test, click Yes

  9. Click Get Stats.

    The Request Time column displays the total request time from the Certify client to the database server.

    The Response Time column displays the total response time from the database server to the Certify client.

  10. Click Close after you have completed your test and finished reviewing your results.

If you need to reset the tool, click the Reset button.
