To configure global settings:
-
From the Certify menu, select Configure > Certify > Certify Global.
The Global Configuration Settings dialog opens.
-
Select values for the following options from the drop-down lists:
Option
Description
Record Filter Criteria Result Run At Least Once
When a parent process calls a child process, the Execute Process step may include a layout, recordset, and recordset filter. For example, you have a recordset with 100 records. In one case the filter may allow 50 records through. In another case, the filter may allow 5 records through.
If the filter allows zero records, this parameter determines whether or not the child process will run. Select one of the following values:
- True – Run the child process once. This option is for older Certify versions for backward compatibility.
- False – Do not run the child process. False is the default value.
If the child process is not executed because of this option, the Execute Process step will be marked as skipped.
SAP Process Lock Mode
This parameter affects Certify integration with SAP Solution Manager. Select one of the following values:
- True – Lock assets and do not allow sharing of assets between tests.
- False – Do not lock assets and allow assets to be shared. For example, allow a project variable to be used in two different tests linked to Solution Manager.
Worksoft recommends the default value False.
SAP Process Serialize Mode
This parameter affects Certify integration with SAP Solution Manager. When a process and its related assets (e.g. variables, objects, child processes, layouts, etc.) are stored in Solution Manager, this parameter controls how much data is actually sent to Solution Manager.
Select one of the following values:
- Serialize_IDOnly – Store only IDs.
- Serialize_FullyPortable – Store all information for all assets as completely as possible. This option has the longest process time.
- Serialize_ICL_Variable_RefOnly – Store process and layout information in full form, and store ICL and variable information by ID only.
- Serialize_ICL_RefOnly - Store process, layout, and variable information in full form, and store ICL information by ID only.
Worksoft recommends the default value Serialize_IDOnly. If you change this value after you have selected the default value, you may have complications with integrating Certify with Solution Manager.
SAP Results Serialize Mode
This parameter affects Certify integration with SAP Solution Manager. When a result is stored in Solution Manager, this parameter controls how much data is sent to Solution Manager.
Variablize Target Folders As Same Folder As Process
When using Certify LiveTouch, you can create variables from generated steps. This parameter controls where new variables are created.
Select one of the following values:
- True – Place variables into a folder that has the same relative path and folder structure as the process.
- False – Allow the user to select the folder where variables are placed. This value is the default.
Default Solman Project
This parameter affects Certify integration with SAP Solution Manager. As part of Solution Manager integration, Certify gets registered as a third-party test tool.
This parameter indicates whether or not to prompt the user for a user name and password.
The Default value means to use project IntegratedSAP. The user provides the project name.
You can override the default project by entering the name of the project into this field.
This value must be selected at the beginning of an implementation.
If the you select to prompt for a user name and password, it is not possible to use Certify in a lights-out test because the prompt will appear.
If you want to avoid the prompt and enable lights-out testing, you must mark the Certify registration as to not require a password.
Remember Password
This parameter controls whether or not the Login screen can remember user names and passwords. Select one of the following values:
- True –The Remember me on this computer option is enabled. True is the default value.
- False - The Remember me on this computer option is disabled.
Solman Result User
Select a user who has permission to launch the Certify Result Viewer from the SAP Solution Manager. Use the value set in SolmanResultUser or the well-known user name ECATTUser.
Solman Test Package Result Sync User
When integrating Certify with SAP Solution Manager, you have the option to save your SAP Remote Function Call (RFC) credentials. These credentials connect to Solution Manager during synchronized test packages execution from Certify to both run a prerequisite check and sync execution status back to Solution Manager.
Enter the RFC user name.
Solman Test Package Result Sync Password
When integrating Certify with SAP Solution Manager, you have the option to save your SAP Remote Function Call (RFC) credentials. These credentials connect to Solution Manager during synchronized test packages execution from Certify to both run a prerequisite check and sync execution status back to Solution Manager.
Enter the RFC password.
Use Solman User in Certify
From the drop-down menu, select True to use the current Solution Manager user name to sign in to Certify. By setting it to True, the user is authenticated when you launch Worksoft Certify and avoids being prompted for credentials.
Strong Password
If you select False for the Strong Password setting, the current password check will continue. Passwords are required by all users, and they must consist of 6 to 16 characters.
If you select True for the Strong Password setting, users are required to meet a stricter criteria when creating passwords. Passwords must consist of a minimum of 12 characters. They must have at least one of the following characters:
- One uppercase
- One lowercase
- One number
- One special character
An error message appears when a password does not meet the criteria.
Idle Timeout Hours
Set the amount in hours before Certify shuts down. When Certify shuts down, the license can be used by another user.
The default value is 0 which means it never times out. Select one of the following values:
- 0
- .5 (30 minutes)
- 1
- 2
- 4
- 8
- 16
- 24
The timer starts when there is no mouse movement.
Release Locks
Select who you want to have the ability to release locks:
