Authenticating Certify Users
Worksoft Certify administrators can authenticate users against one of the following systems:
- Certify Authentication - Use SQL server authentication.
- Worksoft Authentication Service - Use the Worksoft Portal service to authenticate. The user name must be present in both Certify and Portal databases.
- Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) system - Use LDAP configuration to validate the user. The user name must be present in the Certify database.
To authenticate Certify users:
-
From the Certify menu, select Configure > Certify > Authentication Settings.
The Worksoft Authentication Configuration tool opens.
-
Select one of the following authentication options:
- Use Certify Authentication
- Use Worksoft Authentication Service
- Use LDAP Authentication
-
If you selected the Use LDAP Authentication option, see Authenticating Users Against Your LDAP System for configuration details.
-
In the Test Authentication section, enter the network user name and password to validate the credentials.
-
Click Test User Credentials to verify the user.
-
Click OK to save the values to your Certify database.
Next time the user logs on to Certify, the user is authenticated against the system you selected.
After a user is validated, the administrator still needs to add the user to Certify and set the appropriate permissions. For more information, see Creating New Certify Users and Assigning Permissions.
